Agathi --- Botanical name is Sesbania grandiflora.
Two types
1) White Agathi
2) Red Agathi
Useful parts : Leaf, flowers, barks and roots.
Leaf:
1) 2 to 3 drops of leaf juice dropped in the nostrils reduce intermittent fever.
2) 1 part juice and 5 parts honey mixed well and externally applied in the head it cures sinuses in children. The same in the nostrils reduce headache.
Flower:
1) The juice of the flowers acts as a great medicine in eye diseases.
Bark:
The bark is made as dication (kudineer) as per the rules and given for viral fever.
Root bark:
The dication of this will cure white discharge, dryness of mouth, burning sensation of eyes, mouth, ear, nose and extrimities.
Red agathis root bark along with oomathai root grinded well and externally applied reduces the swelling in arthritis.

I an an indian now working in USA, while i visit India on march one of my relative give me some seeds of AGATHI PLANT, I planted it here in America and it start growing wonderfully, now i have 4 plants 4 feet high with lot of leaves, already i cook some leaves and its delicious

agathi leaves should be cooked in water and the water should be thrown out. cooked leaves should be squeezed well and cut to small pieces. add fried jeera, kadugu ( rai, aavalu), chillies, turmeric, salt . If you don't throw the boiled water out, it'll cause a few loose motions.
